Brief reflection on my writing skills

In the past two years of study I have improved my English writing skills in different areas. I can express myself much better and I have a more extended vocabulary than before. Moreover, I learned how to structure and organise essays in order to make them reader-friendly.
One of my weaknesses in writing is that I have problems with German interferences when writing in English. My formulations are sometimes unclear as a result of me not thinking 100% in English. Tense sequencing is another aspect I need to work on since I am uncertain with tenses which I notice every time when writing in English.

By participating in the writing skills class I hope to improve my weaknesses and to become a competent writer in English.

  1. Are you a LiFTS student Elena, or did you choose IA181 as an option?

I'm curious to know what you were doing over the past two years to refine your essay writing skills and expand your vocabulary.

  2. I'm sorry but I don't really know what you mean by LiFTS.
Since 2009 I am studying English-Speaking-Cultures in my home university in Germany and as a part of my study I have had different language skills classes where I had to write essays and things like that.

  3. Sorry Elena...I never noticed your follow-up comment before.

LiFTS is the name of a department here - Literature Film and Theatre Studies. IA181 is compulsory for LiFTS students. I'm glad to see that you opted for the module of your own volition!
